Energy Saver North Carolina offers federally funded rebates for qualifying home-energy improvements through the HOMES and HEAR pathways. ClearVolt is an independent Registered Contractor that helps households understand possible options and coordinates approved projects from planning through closeout.
Which Energy Saver track fits your home?
The Energy Saver program splits into two main tracks. Both can lower upgrade costs, but they cover different types of work.
HOMES
HOMES supports whole-home efficiency projects based on a professional assessment and modeled energy savings. A proposed project must achieve at least 20% modeled energy savings and meet all current program requirements.
HEAR
HEAR provides income-qualified rebates for eligible efficient electric equipment and necessary supporting improvements. Fuel-switching projects are not allowed under the guidance effective September 1, 2026.
Household Eligibility
Household income, household size, residence information, and qualifying-program participation may affect eligibility. Energy Saver North Carolina makes the final determination.
Project-Specific Approval
An eligible household is not automatically approved for every measure. Existing equipment, proposed equipment, project cost, technical requirements, documentation, and available funding must also be reviewed.
